只有两所，NTU和NUS 所谓“国立”是指政府成立的时候作为国立大学成立的，也就是说这两个学校是国立的，其他私立的大学都是后来的。
新加坡一共就两块教育牌，一个是NUS（国立），另一个就是NTU（南洋理工），这两个学校也是国内认可的新加坡大学 这两所学校各有所长 NTU的工科特别厉害，在世界上都有很高的排名，比如说工程，电气，土木这些专业，都是世界前十 NUS则是商科比较厉害，比如会计，金融，统计学这些专业在世界上排名也不错，另外NUS的医学院也非常出名，亚洲第一，世界第六。
至于其他学校，比如说管理大学，新亚，南洋艺术学院等，虽然也是公立，但实力很一般，而且学生数量也很少，就不多介绍了
